Carl Sagan puts life in perspective

So sometimes I struggle with this little thing called insignificance. What have I don't that really matters? What am I doing that really matters? Is loving people enough? Is creating art enough? Is it enough that I used to do important social justice work even though I don't do so much any more? What makes a life significant? What?

Along comes Carl Sagan to remind me that it doesn't so much matter if I think my life is significant (which is not the same as saying that my life isn't significant.) And to remind me that two things I do quite well are actually of the highest importance in this life: to deal kindly with each other and preserve and cherish this pale blue dot.
